Nymphaea ‘Sunfire’, a Mike Giles exclusive hybrid hardy waterlily, displays a 6-8″ stellate shaped, generally brilliant pink flower with bright pink outer petals grading to lighter pink then to light yellow then to dark yellow. ‘Sunfire’ is an excellent bloomer, spreads 4-6′ in 8″-8′ of water, is adaptable to smaller pots and ponds (a 1 gallon pot is good), and is shade tolerant.

Nymphaea ‘Almost Black’ Hardy Waterlily displays a 4-6″ cup shaped, very dark red flower with almost black center petals and dark green leaves. The flower floats except in very shallow water and has a rich sweet fragrance. This waterlily is a good bloomer and spreads 3-5′ in 6 in. to 8 ft. of water and is somewhat adaptable to smaller pots and ponds. This plant has an unknown shade tolerance.

Nymphaea 'Mayla' Hardy Waterlily displays a 6-9″ star shaped, hot fuchsia pink flower and green leaves. The flower floats unless it is in very shallow water and has a sweet fragrance. Mayla is a good bloomer, spreads 5-9' in 6 in. to 11 ft. of water, is not very adaptable due to it's large fast growing odorata root, and is slightly shade tolerant.

‘Turtle Island Violicious’® HXT™ is a newly registered Intersubgeneric nymphaea. The result of hybridization between tropical and hardy nymphaeas highlighting a compact Marliac-Odorata root type. This plant is a great bloomer with a variable flower color usually between blueberry and amethyst but sometimes dark magenta.

Nymphaea ‘Mexicana’ Hardy Waterlily displays a 2.5-4″ cup/star shaped, yellow species flower and medium light green leaves with darker marbling that fades with age. The flower stands 4-7″ above the water in shallow water and has a lemony fragrance. Mexicana is a medium low bloomer, spreads 2-4′ in 6 in. to 5 ft. of water, is not very adaptable due to runners that will rapidly jump out of the pot and take over a tub or very small pond, and has an unknown shade tolerance.

Nymphaea ‘Charlene Strawn’ Hardy Waterlily displays a 4-8″ star shaped, yellow flower with long, tall stamens and medium dark green leaves with marbling when young. The flower stands 4-6″ above the water in medium depth water and has a lemony fragrance. Charlene Strawn is an excellent bloomer, spreads 3-8′ in 6 in. to 8 ft. of water, is more adaptable than many, and is shade tolerant.

Nymphaea ‘Wanvisa’ Hardy Waterlily displays a 4-6″ cup/star shaped, amazing brilliant orange-red to yellow flower with yellow flecks and very dark green, rubbery leaves with dark variegation that stand above the water in shallow water hiding the flowers. The flower stands 4-7″ above the water in shallow water. Wanvisa is a medium bloomer, spreads 3-5′ in 2-6 ft. of water, is unknown adaptability, and has an unknown shade tolerance.
